LBC Joins Hadxayfong District in Releasing More Than 150,000 Fish Fingerlings to Restore Nong Khamsaen’s Ecosystem

On 15 July 2026, Lao Brewery Company (LBC), in collaboration with the Hadxayfong District Agriculture and Forestry Office, the Hadxayfong District Administration, local businesses, village authorities, and community members, organised a fish release activity at Nong Khamsaen, a natural pond in Sithantai Village, Hadxayfong District, Vientiane Capital. The activity was held to mark National Fish and Aquatic Animal Release Day 2026.
The initiative aimed to increase fish and aquatic animal populations, maintain ecological balance, and raise awareness among all sectors of the importance of conserving, managing, and using aquatic resources responsibly and sustainably. These collective efforts contribute to strengthening food security and improving the quality of life of local communities over the long term.
Hadxayfong District currently has a total of 423 hectares of natural fish habitats. To date, the public and private sectors have jointly released more than eight million fish into natural water sources across the district. In 2026, Hadxayfong District aims to release three million fish to further restore the abundance of its natural aquatic ecosystems.
During this activity at Nong Khamsaen, more than 150,000 fish fingerlings were released into the natural pond to help increase aquatic animal populations, restore the area’s natural abundance, maintain ecological balance, and strengthen long-term food resources for surrounding communities.
LBC’s participation reflects its commitment to working alongside the government and local communities to conserve water resources, restore biodiversity, and promote the responsible and sustainable use of natural resources under the Carlsberg Group’s Brewing Tomorrow sustainability ambition.
National Fish and Aquatic Animal Release Day is observed annually on 13 July.
